چکیده
Fe-based metallic glass has wide industrial application due to its unique mechanical behavior and magnetic properties. In the present work, non-isothermal crystallization kinetics in Fe68Nb6B23Mo3 glassy alloys were investigated by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The results indicate that both transformation process display an obvious kinetic effect. activation energy is calculated using Kissinger’s method Ozawar’s method. for Tg (glass transition temperatures), Tx (crystallization initiation temperatures) Tp peak from Kissinger equation, 308 ± 4, 342 5 310 7 kJ mol?1, respectively. Crystallization Kinetics of Amorphous Lactose as a Function of Moisture Content Using Isothermal Differential Scanning Calorimetry
Isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to study the crystallization kinetics of amorphous lactose at 3 moisture contents. Each sample was heated to several temperatures between Tg and Tm. After subtraction of an induction time, the Avrami equation was used to model the data and a Lauritzen-Hoffman like expression used to fit the crystallization rates between Tg and Tm. The ...
متن کاملHydration of thermally denatured lysozyme studied by sorption calorimetry and differential scanning calorimetry.
We have studied hydration (and dehydration) of thermally denatured hen egg lysozyme using sorption calorimetry. Two different procedures of thermal denaturation of lysozyme were used. In the first procedure the protein was denatured in an aqueous solution at 90 degrees C, in the other procedure a sample that contained 20% of water was denatured at 150 degrees C. The protein denatured at 90 degr...
متن کاملDetermination of the activation energy of crystallization based up on Ozawa and Kissinger formalisms and thermal stability of V2O5-NiO- TeO2 glasses by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
In the present research work, (60-x)V2O5-xNiO-40TeO2 amorphous bulk compositions with different molar percentages of 0≤x≤20 mol%, were prepared by well-known rapid melt-quenching method. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at different heating rates (φ) was used to thermal analyze and to obtain more insight in to the thermal stability, glass forming tendency and so calorimetric characteris...
متن کاملDifferential scanning calorimetry of bacteria.
Thermograms obtained by differential scanning calorimetry of a range of bacteria of different heat resistances were compared. Equations were derived to calculate the rate at which the numbers of viable organisms in a calorimeter decline as the temperature is raised at a constant rate. Vegetative bacteria scanned at 10 degrees C min-1 showed multi-peaked thermograms with four major peaks (denote...
متن کاملSeparation of glass transition and crystallization in metallic glasses by temperature-modulated differential scanning calorimetry
The glass transition behaviour of the four metallic glasses La55Al25Ni20 , Zn65Mg35, and Nd60Fe30Al10 and Zr30Y30Al15Ni25 has been studied by temperature-modulated di erential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). It is clearly demonstrated that the glass transition can be separated from crystallization by MDSC. Two glass transitions have been observed for Zn65Mg35, Nd60Fe30Al10 and Zr30Y30Al15Ni25. Ow...
